Here are the instructions Microsoft provides for activating and installing the software:

1. On your PC or Mac, go to office.com/setup.
2. Sign in with your Microsoft account or create a new one. Write your account info down so you can reinstall Office and manage your account anytime.
3. Enter the 25-character product key provided.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Office.
