Coverage Duration

All WSIB-issued systems carry a 3-year warranty from the date of arrival, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Battery Coverage

Batteries are covered under the full 3-year system warranty on the same terms as any other internal component.

Consumable Coverage

Certain other items are still classified as consumables and are covered on different terms than the main system warranty — for example, items such as Smart Books and Toner cartridges.

Shipping

Shipping for warranty service is covered both ways by Microcad — there is no cost to the Injured Person or to WSIB for sending the unit in or receiving it back.

Exclusions

The warranty does not cover damage resulting from accidental drops, liquid spills, unauthorized repair attempts, or misuse. Cosmetic wear that does not affect function is not covered.

Repair Process

Units returned for warranty service are inspected, repaired or replaced with a like-for-like unit of equal or greater specification, and returned to the Injured Person. Turnaround time will depend on parts availability.

Data Handling

As part of the repair or replacement process, data on the returned unit may be wiped. We recommend backing up any personal files before sending a unit in for service.
